2012

"Great preparation for Birmingham Half - A really challenging 8 1/2 miles, but lot of fun...until the 1 in 3 climb a mile from the end which eliminated any lingering thoughts of trying to chase down the guy in front". I Kirkland

"Come on!!!!!!!!!! Another great year for another great race!! no goody bag this year lol but the medal still brilliant! doing it again next year" Matt Griffiths

"My Garmin logged 1572 feet of altitude gain during the race, so this is proper hilly. Lots of variety and interest on a twisty route - roads, mud, grass, woodland, stony paths, tracks. Good marshalling, very supportive and friendly. Anyone who can maintain a run up every hill on this race has my respect!" Michael Green

"Cracking race. Well organised with good facilities. Very tough course that certainly blows away any cobwebs. Hills, fresh air and some great views (if you get chance).Enthusiastic and helpful marshalls. Clear mile markers. Best part is the coffee and homemade cakes after.. much needed and well earned." David JR

"Thanks to everyone involved, course was so hard & hilly but atmosphere was brilliant all round the course. Will be back again...but not till muscles have been well soaked!! Would recommend this run to anyone looking to do something different to the usual road courses." Phil Smith

2011

"AWESOME!!! I can talk from a little experience here. I've done many, many small races and 2 marathons so far in my career. This run was simply the best race i've done to date i'm sure. It had it all. A challenging course with smashing marshalls and competitors. The goody bag and medal was just exceptional! Very Happy indeed! Thankyou, Bromsgrove & Redditch Athletic Club. Pure Quality :)"  Matt Griffiths

"Excellent race with some challenging hills. Superbly organised and well marshalled. And the cakes at the end - a great finish! This should be a must do for runners! " Dave Gemmell

"Perfect multi-terrain run, challenging and scenic." Tracy10k

"Super cake more than earnt after some long slogs uphill and over stiles. Beautiful scenery, bracing racing!" Leah Marsden

"A tough and truly hilly challenge with a warm welcome home.  This was my first attempt at this race and it was very hilly. Contrary to other reveiwers there were mile markers throughout the race perhaps going slower I had a better opportunity to see these! The only consideration for future runners is that over the first half mile there is a single file section so make sure you start at the right position within the pack! Also some high stiles too."  Hannah Batchelor

"This race is a definite date in the diary each year - love it :-)"  Chris White

"Challenging yet friendly with some great downhills as well as the ups. The marhsalls made you feel as if you were the winner!"  Hilary O'Shea

"The hills are alive!  A great race with excellent organisation. This hills can definitely be described as "sporting" and you'll get the CV work out of a life time.  Some great scenery and some amazing post race cakes definitely make the whole thing worth it. If starts and finishes at a school so parking and facilities are fine.  Don't expect a PB but although it's not for the faint hearted it does have a mix of experienced club runners and those looking to complete a good challenge.  DavidJR

"Have done this race a few times - a very challenging but great race - well organised, friendly - always on my calender."  Peter Brown

"Good Old Hills.  Well I've been in a lot of races recently with a lot of people claiming they were "hilly" Finally a race that warrants the label!  Race itself was 8.5 miles according to the Garmin and it was tough. Lots of hills and shoe-losing ground with a few stiles chucked in.  Marshalling was good and encouraging. Somehow managed a sprint finish with 300 metres to go, not sure where that came from as the legs were knackered at that point!  Love races like this and would definitely do it again."  Corky Tough Guy

"Tougher than it looks.  Billed as '4 steep climbs' - should say 'and a lot of slopes'. This can feel like a mostly uphill course but there are just as many short downs to catch your breath. Very helpful marshals and impossible to get lost. No distance markers but I think the total was 8 1/2 miles."  Mitchdrdm

"Excellent - challenging race over a very scenic route. This was a really enjoyable race - great course, friendly marshals, cheap entry and excellent changing facilities.  The course itself has a few very tough uphill stretches, but the downhill stretches make up for this. The only minor quibble is the lack of distance markers, but overall this was a very good race.NJ1979
